2024? Bit of a rollercoaster for PlayStation, wasn't it? Highs like Helldivers 2 and FF7 Rebirth, a faceplant with Concord, then Astro Bot popped up like a cheerful little distraction. And the PS5 Pro? Pricey. Reception? Mixed bag. But enough looking back. 2025's on the horizon.

What’s coming? PlayStation Studios are playing it close to the vest. But we’ve got some intel. Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei leads the charge. Sequel to Tsushima, new hero, new location. Expect stunning visuals. Here’s hoping for gameplay trailers soon. Winter release? Maybe.

Then there’s Fairgames from Haven Studios. Multiplayer heist shooter. After the Concord debacle, this one’s crucial. Will they learn from past mistakes? We’ll see. Revealed in 2023, still no gameplay. Fingers crossed for that 2025 launch.

That's it for confirmed PlayStation Studios titles. Not exactly a packed schedule, right? But more’s likely brewing. We can speculate. Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is coming, but probably not in 2025. Still, any news from Druckmann and the team is welcome. Laser blades, anyone?

Marathon carries a heavy load. Bungie’s first post-Sony acquisition release. Another live-service shooter, following Concord. Big shoes to fill. Bungie’s got the shooter pedigree, though. This revival of a 90s series as an extraction shooter? Intriguing.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach? Could it surface in 2025? Kojima at The Game Awards, no new trailer. Come on, Hideo! We need answers (and gameplay). And then there’s Physint, the stealth-action exclusive he’s working on.

Third-party exclusives? Plenty of sword action incoming. Phantom Blade Zero, flashy hack-and-slash from S-Game. Semi-open world, samurai, soulslike elements. Looks stylish. Hoping for a 2025 release.

Where Winds Meet, PS5 console-exclusive RPG, ancient China setting. You’re a warrior shaping history. Originally slated for 2024, delayed for more content. Next year seems likely.

More swords? Ballad of Antara, free-to-play co-op action RPG, multiple protagonists. Beta’s on the way, so expect more info soon.

Still not done with swords. Sword of the Sea. You ride on the sword. Giant Squid, of Abzû and The Pathless fame. Journey vibes are strong.

The Midnight Walk, from Lost in Random devs. Claymation adventure. Visually striking. And it’s coming to PS VR2. Finally, some love for the headset.

Last console exclusive: Baby Steps. From the Getting Over It and Ape Out creators. Looks hilariously agonizing.

Multiplatform bangers? Loads. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Elden Ring Nightreign, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Monster Hunter Wilds, Mafia: The Old Country, Judas, Borderlands 4, Doom: The Dark Ages, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Oh, and GTA 6. You might have heard of it.

Now, the fun part: wishful thinking. Insomniac’s been relatively quiet. Understandable, given the data breach. Wolverine’s coming, maybe a Venom game first. 2025 release? Unlikely, but maybe we’ll get some news.

Santa Monica Studio? What's next for the God of War team? Cory Barlog’s working on something new. Could we see it in 2025? Guerrilla Games? More Horizon? An online multiplayer game is rumored. Bend Studio? It’s been a while since Days Gone. Another open-world game is hinted at. We need more info.

Bottom line: we don’t know much about what many first-party studios are cooking. 2025 could be another quiet year. But surprises happen.

And finally, Sony and Kadokawa (and FromSoftware)? A Bloodborne remaster or sequel? We can dream, right?

Hardware-wise, things should be calmer after the PS VR2, PlayStation Portal, and PS5 Pro. Maybe the Pro will finally justify its price tag as games like Ghost of Yotei and GTA 6 push the base PS5.

Whispers of new PlayStation tech in 2025. Another handheld? Just add internal storage to the Portal! How hard can it be? Maybe we’ll see a PSP/Vita successor, or at least an announcement.

It’s all speculation. What are your theories for PlayStation in 2025?
