The team behind Marvel Rivals, NetEase, has issued an apology to players who were unfairly banned for cheating. Even though these players weren't using any cheating software, they still ended up with false bans, and NetEase hasn't disclosed how many were affected. According to IGN, NetEase acknowledged that they mistakenly flagged some players using compatibility layer programs as cheaters. "We sincerely apologize for this situation and want to assure you that we do not and will not ban players who are playing fairly and without cheating," they stated. "We've pinpointed the reasons for these false bans and have created a list of those impacted. We've lifted these bans and truly regret any trouble this has caused." NetEase also mentioned that they're working on enhancing their anti-cheat measures and encouraged players to report any cheaters they come across. "Our goal is to ensure a fair and enjoyable gaming experience for everyone. That's why identifying and preventing cheating is a top priority for us. We've dedicated a lot of resources to improve the speed and accuracy of our detection systems," the developers explained. "With any detection system, there's always room for growth. We appreciate your help in tackling this issue. If you see any cheating, please report it right away; our reporting system is quick to respond. If you think you've been wrongly banned, you can appeal to our customer support team, and we'll review your case promptly. You can reach out to support either in-game or on Discord!" This news comes just before the launch of Marvel Rivals Season 1, which will introduce playable characters from the Fantastic Four, teased with a sneak peek image and an upcoming trailer. Here’s hoping for HERBIE to make the cut too! Marvel Rivals may have rubbed some players the wrong way, but it’s been a massive success for NetEase, racking up 10 million players in just three days and hitting 20 million in two weeks. On Steam, the game saw a peak of 480,990 players during its launch weekend, landing it in the top five most-played games on Valve's platform.
