Ibelin becomes World of Warcraft character Blizzard honors Norwegian Mats Steen. World of Warcraft is taking a new step in honoring Mats "Ibelin" Steen. The Norwegian is getting his own character in the game, reports Wowhead among others. As the website writes, fans have uncovered details about the character Lord Ibelin Redmoore in an upcoming update. This was the name that Steen used when he played World of Warcraft before he passed away at the age of 25. Mats Steen suffered from Duchenne muscular dystrophy and lived much of his life in a wheelchair. Instead of a life in loneliness, which his parents assumed he lived, he managed to touch the lives of countless people across Europe. The story of Mats Steen and the World of Warcraft character Ibelin was first told by NRK and has since become a very popular documentary. The film Ibelin is now shortlisted for nomination at this year's Oscar ceremony. Game developer Blizzard has previously honored Steen through a gravestone in the game. Players have also gathered in large numbers, both in and outside of World of Warcraft, to remember Mats.
