Microsoft may be planning to release "all their major games" on PlayStation 5, according to a prominent industry analyst's 2025 prediction.
Kantan Games CEO Serkan Toto suggests this could be the year Microsoft fully embraces its multiplatform approach. Speaking with GI.biz, Toto points to the company's recent platform-agnostic moves as evidence of this strategic shift.
"The Activision Blizzard acquisition and PlayStation's significant market advantage could drive this decision," Toto explains. This expansion might include flagship franchises like Gears of War: E-Day and Perfect Dark.
Microsoft's early 2024 announcement already confirmed Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment for other platforms. The company's multiplatform presence was previously established through Minecraft's success and Call of Duty's continued PlayStation releases.
Looking ahead, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is confirmed for PS5 in Spring 2025. Industry insiders also hint at a potential Halo: Combat Evolved remaster for PlayStation 5.
