Remember rushing back to Arcadia Bay in Life is Strange: Double Exposure last October? Max's return should have been a slam dunk, but something didn't quite click. Now Square Enix is asking players directly what went wrong.

The publisher just rolled out a pretty detailed survey to Life is Strange players, diving into everything from the story beats to those classic butterfly effect choices. The timing here is telling - this comes right after Double Exposure's sales apparently missed the mark, followed by some rough layoffs at developer Deck Nine Studios back in December.

While critics mostly vibed with Max's latest supernatural adventure (we actually loved the layered storytelling and meaningful choices in our review), it looks like the broader fanbase wasn't entirely sold. Square Enix's 15-minute questionnaire gets specific, asking players to break down their thoughts on the narrative, gameplay mechanics, and whether those infamous technical issues affected their experience.

The survey's biggest bombshell? Square Enix straight-up asks if you'd play another Life is Strange game. That's a pretty heavy question for a series that gave us moments like Max rewinding time to save Chloe, or Sean and Daniel's heartbreaking journey to the border. Then again, Life is Strange has always been about making tough choices - seems fitting they're letting fans help make this one.

If you've played Double Exposure, check your inbox (and maybe your spam folder) for that survey email. This could be a make-or-break moment for Life is Strange's future, and Square Enix seems genuinely interested in hearing what went sideways with Max's return to Arcadia Bay.

Worth noting: The survey is only going out to verified Life is Strange players, so if you're getting one, your feedback could help shape whatever comes next for the series - if anything does.
