Want Fortnite and more on your Android? Epic Games has you covered. They just teamed up with Telefónica, a huge phone company in Europe. What does this mean for you?
- •New phone? New games! If you’re in Spain, Latin America, Germany, or the UK and get a new Telefónica Android phone, the Epic Games Store will be pre-installed. Boom.
- •Easy access. This means Fortnite, Fall Guys, Rocket League Sideswipe, and even more games will be super easy to download. No more jumping through hoops.
- •More to come. Epic says this is just the start. They’re planning even more goodies for mobile gamers on Telefónica over the next year. Think of it as a mobile gaming buffet, with more dishes being added all the time.
Why are they doing this? Well, they want to give Android users more choices. Remember when Apple kicked Fortnite off the App Store? This is part of that whole “alternative to traditional app stores” thing. More options are always good, right?
"Thanks to our partnership with Telefónica, you can now grab the Epic Games Store, Fortnite, and soon, third-party games right on your Android," says Michael Modon from Epic. They’re pretty excited about it.
Oh, and one more thing: Epic is still supporting Fortnite Festival (that Rock Band-style mode). So, if you're itching to shred some virtual guitar, you're in luck. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some virtual headbanging to do. Rock on!
